By booking a service with The Mobile Small Car Doctor, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before confirming your booking.
Quotes and Pricing
All quotes provided are estimates based on the information given at the time of enquiry. Final costs may vary if additional faults or complications are discovered once work has begun. If the scope of work changes, I will always contact you before proceeding and explain any additional costs clearly and honestly. You will never be charged for work you haven't approved.
A 10% handling and sourcing charge is applied to all parts and components. This covers the cost of sourcing, ordering and collecting parts on your behalf.
A 3% processing fee is applied to all card payments. To avoid this charge, payment by bank transfer or cash is welcome.
Estimates and Labour Times
Some jobs take longer than initially expected due to factors outside my control — seized bolts, corroded components, hidden damage or unexpected faults discovered during the repair. In these cases, additional labour charges may apply. I will always inform you as soon as possible if a job is likely to exceed the original estimate, and I will not proceed with additional work without your approval.
Property and Surface Damage
All work is carried out at your property at your own risk. While I take every precaution to protect your driveway, garage floor or parking area, I cannot be held responsible for staining or marking caused by oil, fluids, or other vehicle-related substances during the course of a repair. It is your responsibility to ensure an appropriate and safe working surface is available. If you have a particularly delicate or light-coloured driveway, please inform me before booking so we can discuss suitable precautions.
Vehicle Access and Working Conditions
You are responsible for ensuring the vehicle is accessible and in a safe location for work to be carried out. I reserve the right to refuse or postpone a job if the working conditions are deemed unsafe — for example, on a steep incline, a busy roadside, or in severe weather. In such cases, an alternative time or location will be arranged.
Parts and Warranty
All parts fitted are sourced from reputable suppliers. Where manufacturer or supplier warranties apply to parts, these will be passed on to you. Labour warranties are provided on a job-by-job basis and will be confirmed at the time of booking. Warranty coverage does not apply where a vehicle has been worked on by another party after my repair, or where damage has resulted from misuse or neglect.
Cancellations
I ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your booking. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee to cover lost time and any parts already ordered on your behalf.
Payment
Payment is due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in advance. For larger jobs, a deposit may be required to cover the cost of parts before work begins. Failure to pay may result in the matter being referred to a debt recovery service.
Liability
The Mobile Small Car Doctor carries full public liability insurance. However, I cannot be held liable for pre-existing faults or damage not related to the work carried out, or for any consequential losses arising from a vehicle being off the road.
Your Rights
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
